How much is child support?

Answer: The Mississippi child support guidelines provide that a non-custodial parent should pay the following percentages of their adjusted gross income (income from all sources minus mandatory deductions such as federal, state, and local taxes, Social Security contributions, and mandatory retirement and disability contributions):
a. 14% for one child;
b. 20% for two children;
c. 22% three children;
d. 24% four children; and
e. 26% for five or more children.

However, there are certain situations where the court may deviate from those guidelines.
